May Day Potluck & Cuban Film: Maestra

May 1 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us to celebrate International Workers’ Day with a potluck and a recent Cuban film, Maestra (Teacher). MAESTRA explores the personal testimonies of the young women who taught literacy in rural communities across Cuba during the Cuban Literacy Campaign of 1961, when 250,000 volunteers taught 700,000 people to read and write in one year. Please bring food to share–we have place settings. We’ll also have information about the Pastors for Peace yearly Cuba Caravan.
