Lynn Salvo Rides into Wichita

April 17, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Lynn Salvo, who is a two-time Guinness world record holder for the oldest female to ride a bicycle across the U.S. (2016) and across Canada (2018). She has made a one-hour movie of her Canada ride and would love for you to see it. We have made arrangements to show the movie in conference room C of the Advanced Learning Library on April 17 at 6:00 p.m. Lynn will be there to talk about her reason for riding – and riding – and riding, which I have taken the liberty to call her ‘peace mission’  and to tell you about other rides that she has done and still plans to do. If you would like to contribute to her mission of peace, donations can be made to https://www.afsc.org/ – check it out!
In addition, Kim Neufeld will briefly talk about the great work that BikeWalkWichita does to advocate for more and safer walking and biking in our community.
Also, Dan DeGroot w/the Peace and Social Justice Center will briefly talk about the focus of that organization. https://wichitapeace.org/
Please feel free to pass this information along to anyone you think might be interested in attending. This is “NOT AN OFFICIAL WICHITA PUBLIC LIBRARY EVENT” but is being co-hosted by the Peace and Social Justice Center, BikeWalkWichita, and Bicycle Pedaler. There is no admission charge.
