Juneteenth – Redefining Blackness

This powerful evening kicks off at 6:00pm with spoken word, drumming circles, a history of Juneteenth as told by the Wichita/ South Central Kansas African American Council of Elders​
At 7:15pm Juneteenth Keynote speaker, Rev. Dr. Michael W. Waters will deliver a timely message. Michael W. Waters is founding pastor of Joy Tabernacle African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church in Dallas, Texas. As pastor, professor, award-winning author, activist, and social commentator, Waters’ words of hope and empowerment inspire national and international audiences.​
