Human Trafficking Awareness

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and this Wichita Women in Health Professions event is intended to raise awareness about human trafficking and local initiatives in order to help identify and prevent it. Panelists include Dr. Karen Countryman-Roswurm, executive director of the WSU Center for Combating Human Trafficking; Tina Peck, program coordinator of Forensic Nursing Services at Via Christi Hospitals; Cathy Turner, president and CEO, Hope Ranch for Women; and Karla Armbrister, outreach manager, Wichita Family Crisis Center.
WWHP events are open to KU School of Medicine-Wichita faculty, staff, students, residents, and other interested members of our community.
