Harry Gregory – The Politics of Science Denial / Amanda Lind
December 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Harry Gregory will be joining us to talk about the Politics of Science Denial.
Harry Gregory grew up on a farm in west central Missouri where he spent hours observing and learning about nature. He earned a BS in Education and a MS in Biology at the University of Central Missouri. Now retired, he spent his career in education and zoo management.
His involvement with environmental organizations began in Kansas City with the Burrough’s Audubon Society where he served in several positions including President. During his term, the club was instrumental in stopping the channelization of the Little Blue River in eastern Jackson County. Following that, the Missouri Governor appointed him to the Missouri State Advisory Board on Environmental Education resulting in the publication of a State Plan on Environmental Education.
After moving to Hutchinson as their Zoo Director, he served on the Public Advisory Committee for the Mineral Intrusion Project for the KS Geological Survey. He taught Environmental Science at the high school and college level for 13 years and is currently a member of the board of the Kansas Citizens for Science and a Coordinator of the Wichita Science Cafe.
We’re also thrilled to welcome back Amanda Lind as our musical guest!
