Fall Garden Cleanup at Great Plains Nature Center

November 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The “parking lot” garden at GPNC contains mature examples of native plants that welcome visitors to the Nature Center and Chisholm Creek Park nature trails. This flower bed is maintained during the year by KNPS volunteer time and labor. Come lend a hand by removing crab grass and help refresh the mulch in this flower bed as part of the annual Fall Work Day at GPNC. We will identify the plants in this flower bed in their final, seed bearing state. Help is needed throughout the park to perform fall habitat restoration projects within Chisholm Creek Park. RSVP to Cassie Standley, Volunteer Coordinator, by November 1, so she can coordinate a successful work day 316-683-5499 ext 309.
GPNC will provide a light lunch at noon to the volunteers at the Fall Work Day. RSVP to Cassie is required so that your lunch can be planned for. Bring your hand tools and work gloves, water, and dress for outdoor work.
