Dying for a Donut
November 18, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
What is a home funeral? Do I have to hire a funeral director? What is involved in a “green” burial? Is it bad luck to eat a donut while talking about death?
Sarah Crews, home funeral guide, death educator and founding director of Heart Land Prairie Cemetery, a natural burial ground in Central Kansas, will address these questions and more at Wichita’s first ever, Dying for a Donut event at The Donut Whole. Join us to participate in the conversation and learn something new about the timeless practices of after-death care and natural burial.
This is not a grief group, it is an informational discussion about death and dying and how to change the traditional (since the Civil War) way we have been memorialized and buried. Free copy of Yes! Magazine’s The Death Issue to all who come.
Please plan to come and buy a donut, shop local and even take some home! They have fabulous coffee as well! Bring your own mug and get refills all evening.
Please plan to bring a few dollars to help with Sarah’s travel expenses. She is coming down from north of Salina without being paid so let’s cover her gas and make sure she can bring some donuts home!
