Cover Crops and Streambank Tour

The Upper Wakarusa WRAPS and Shawnee County Conservation District invite you to tour a cover crop operation and a streambank revetment project including a free box lunch, (registration required for meal). We will meet at the Robert Lynch farm located just south of the intersection of 45th Street and Stubbs Road in southeastern Shawnee County. Look for signs directing you to the parking area. Walking a short distance from the parking area may be required.

•Demonstrations of tools for monitoring soils.
•Learn the basics of stream stabilization.
•Restored streambanks 2 years after cedar revetment installed.
•Learn about state and federal programs involving cost share for
cover crops and streambank stabilization.
