Community Discussion: A Climate of Hate in America

July 15 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A team of journalists from News 21 in Phoenix, AZ, have been traveling the states working on an investigative story about the climate of “Hate in America”. Now one of their journalists will be in Wichita, and she wants to hear from K-12 students, parents of K-12 students, and educators who’ve experienced or witnessed hate based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion, documentation status, ability, etc.
Please join us this Sunday afternoon to share your experiences with us and the journalist. In this safe space, students, parents, and educators are invited to share their experiences, and hopefully experience some catharsis by helping shed light on problems that many Americans still aren’t able to see or understand.
We’ll also discuss ways we can support each other and touch on the importance of self-care.
