As part of the monthly Tuesday Topics series, learn more about the largest refugee crisis happening in the world today, what conditions led these people to flee their homeland, and what steps are being taken to make lives better for these refugees who long to return to their country of origin. Claudine Leary will speak on the work she is doing to improve the lives of refugees. Rev. Claudine Mujawayesu Leary, Executive Director of Watoto Reads, came to the U.S. as a refugee from Rwanda. Her organization, Watoto Read, works to fund education for the thousands of Sudanese refugees who fled Darfur and are now living in the world’s largest refugee camp ever in Uganda.
