We celebrate our community as a place that appreciates, respects, values and welcomes immigrants. Join us throughout the month of September, as we celebrate the diversity that Immigration brings to our community and country. Through a tradition that links all of our cultures, the gift of storytelling, we hope to honor and recognize the importance of all immigrants, and the journey it took to get to this country.
Each weekend in September, enjoy an afternoon of speakers , food and community activities. All are welcome to join to support and celebrate every Saturday. Then join us during September FINAL FRIDAY to celebrate more, as everyone comes together after this month long celebration of immigration.
If there are any groups, individuals or entities with stories to share, we ask that you please reach out to us – we would love to include everyone and everything that we possibly can.
This is a family friendly community organized event.
Storytelling-September at Confluence will offer a variety of activities devoted to exploring our humanity through story. There will be a variety of events associated with the Immigration Celebration and Storytelling-September, so please check Confluence Community Center facebook page, for all activities regarding storytelling and immigration.
The community saw a desperate need to show all Immigrants that they are welcome and celebrated throughout America. This event idea came together after the recent media climate, so it is not fully planned or prepared. We want to include the community in the planning process. Let’s do this together, let’s celebrate the lives of every single person around us and show our love for the Immigrant Communities that helped build this country.
